Tips for Best PicsPicture Day Tips All students want to look their best in school pictures. Follow these few tips and leave the rest to our experienced photographers. Wear solid colors. Preferable in more subdued hues, they enhance facial tones and do not detract from expression. Very bright colors really stand out and can lighten or darken flesh tones. Wear long or short sleeved tops, avoid sleeveless. MOST IMPORTANTLY: Please Do NOT Wear Green! Photos are taken on a green screen, so students who wear green may see green halos. Your best bet for a great picture is to avoid wearing any color green. Glasses? We will do our best to minimize glass glare and with our Premium Retouching services most glare can be removed however in some cases it cannot be eliminated. We recommend borrowing a pair of lenseless frames from your optometrist if this is a concern. Avoid the just cut look! If your hair needs a trim, have it done as soon as possible to avoid the "just cut" look on picture day. Wearing accessories. Choose accessories that won't detract from your timeless portrait. Wearing simple earrings, necklaces, and hair adornments will enhance your image. Other Things to Note Be confident. Don't be afraid to smile big. It's your time to shine. Lighten the mood, make the pictures fun.

FAQQ1. I received a notice of pictures and there are prepay items. Do I have to purchase these packages on picture day to receive this price? A1. Yes, the Picture Day Specials must be purchased on picture day to receive the special price. These items will also be offered to you on your proof, but the price will be higher. Q2. Will I be able to see my student's photo before I buy my Traditional Portrait Package? A2. Yes, we will be sending a proof of your student home about 1 week after picture day. The proof will have the Traditional Portrait Packages as well as fun gift items. However, the Picture Day Specials must be paid for on Picture Day to receive the special discount pricing. Q3. My child will be absent on picture day. A3. There is usually an absentee picture day at your school. We will be sending out information to the students as retake day approaches. Q4. We lost the order form for picture day how do I place an order? A4. The photographer will have extra order forms at school on picture day. There are also extra order forms available in your school's front office. Q5. What does it mean that the photo is taken on a green screen? A5. Green screen is the new and exciting technology in portraits. Actually it has been around for quite some time, but it has recently improved enoughtto be used in a school environment. This is exciting because you can change the background of your portraits on each package you purchase AND each student can choose a different background so you have a really unique look! Q6. Why can't I wear green on picture day? A6. Because the photo will be taken on a green screen, just like the news reporters on TV! Everything that is green will dissappear and look just like the background, you don't want to wear green. With our high tech software, we are able to fix the photos that have green, but there is a possibility of a green halo. If you want a guaranteed high quality portrait, we ask that you not wear the color green in any shade. Q7. Can I make up my own package? A7. Order a basic package and then buy add-ons to come up with your needs. Q8. Can I change the packages and exchange sheets? A5. No, the portrait packages are specially designed for quick service and low cost to the customer. Unfortunately no substitutions are allowed on packages. However, you are welcome to purchase additional sheets for a low price if you are purchasing a package. Q8. What do I wear? A6. Classic styles in solid colors are what photograph best. Avoid bold and busy patterns that would detract from facial expression. Please do NOT wear the color green in any shade. Q9. How long does it take for my order? A9. Orders placed on Picture Day Specials will be returned with your proofs in about 1 week. Picture orders that are ordered off of you original proofs take approximately 1-2 weeks. Reorders & Second-chance orders take approximately 3 weeks. Senior portraits take approximately 6-8 weeks. Q10. What about blemishes? A10. Temporary blemishes need not be an embarrassment on finished portraits. Order out retouching options that will remove blemishes and flaws. Q11. Can I take my senior pictures in a park near my house? A11. Possibly. If you purchased the "On Location" add on to your senior session we will travel up to 30 miles from your school or our building to take pictures of you. If this park is within the 30 mile distance we would be glad to photograph you there. Q12. How long will it take to have my senior pictures taken? A12. A Senior Sitting typically takes about an hour. Q13. I’ve seen new “picture stores” in malls and shopping centers that offer digital imaging enhancements. Why should I prefer school pictures over the new picture providers? A13. For lots of reasons. Most importantly, school pictures are best at capturing memories of one of the most central aspects of a child’s life: school days with best friends and favorite teachers. You can’t beat the cost or convenience of a single purchase transaction done at home. Also, school pictures are taken by “pros” who strike the right balance among price, quality and creativity. Q14. Are there any other benefits to school pictures? A14. In awarding its photography contract to a professional photographer, the school also receives valuable services such as photos-of-record for the school office, yearbook images, student ID cards and related imaging services. And here’s a little-known benefit: A portion of the proceeds from all pictures ordered reverts to the school. This means that school picture purchases help support the local school.
